I guess I don't talk about my family much. I only mentioned Dad to Mabel, when I told her that Dad and Uncle Juha are twins.

[This isn't Lalli being innocently unhelpful, like he often is. He knows exactly how pedantic he's being when he says that.

I was trying to think of the best way to markup the door, so that if it opens overnight on Thursday we will know.

... Tape? It'll break if it opens, and it can't just be replaced if someone notices it.

That would work. Something that can't be replaced is important. Also it's important that only Fall dorm knows about it too.

I want to catch whoever might have come in, and also have the door sealed off as an alibi for all of us too. If the seal is unbroken, nobody in Fall dorm could have left to murder.

...possibly. We have to make it so we can't take off the seal without damaging it.

... We still don't know for sure if the murderers are walking out. Hanayagi said she simply woke up outside, but she never said how she made it back in. I don't think Rupert did, either.

This would help answer that question then. Even if they don't remember it, if they walk out, it will break the seal.

...we would have to go through the trial to the end to see if anyone from fall dorm was magicked out if the seal is not broken, But at least if it's broken then we know someone went through the door.

... It's at least worth a shot. I still think some kind of tape would be best, but it needs to be distinctive enough they can't just use any other tape to replace it.
