[This is absolutely what mages do these days. Lalli is going to step right in as soon as Sieg lets him in too, no waiting out in the space between for him. Sieg might be able to catch a distinct feeling of 'wow something is out there and watching us' if he leaves the barrier open too long too.]

We don't have long before we'll have to move again, but the others will wake us up when it's time to go. Who are you, and why were you in that hospital?

I'm Sieg. I was made to be a battery, so I... guess that's why I was in the hospital? I don't remember much leading up to that point.

[If Sieg just leaves it be it will close on its own, he needs to focus on keeping the barrier open for it to stay open.]

A battery? How?

[Part of Lalli wants to argue that is ridiculous, but the power did go out when he took Sieg out of that tube...maybe he really was a battery.]

I've never heard of any kind of magic that can do that.

How? ... I was made, I don't know the exact workings of how to make other homunculi. We're made to be magical batteries, servants and soldiers so mages don't have to risk themselves that way.

[A homunculus. Something Lalli knows about, vaguely, but not something he had ever seen in person. Not until now. And something about Sieg's description doesn't sit right with him.]

As much as he would like to have a life of his own, it just didn't work out for him.]
