[He's giving Taichi a confused look, but then Something clicks in his mind and he abruptly accepts this. The gay clues, he is connecting them.]

Just trust me. It'll make everything go way faster to do it that way.

[There are all the gay clues.]

He listens to you?

[he shrugs, heteroly.]

Not always. But we've been friends for a long time. [so you win some, you lose some, basically.]

[A fucking. Hetero shrug.]

Mmm. I guess friends do listen to each other like that.

[So says Lalli "exactly one friend and its kind of gay" Hotakainen.]

[yeah, on account of being straight.]

Yeah. We've been a team for that long, too, so I guess we know how to talk to each other well enough by now.

[mostly. sometimes it's a lot of yamato yelling and taichi relenting but it's fine.]

How long have you known each other?

[What even is growing up with friends?]

A while. But we've really only been friends for the last six years or so. [in the sense that prior to that they went to the same school and were on first name basis, but they weren't in the same class or anything.]

The only people I've known that long are family.

[goalsides]

[there's a nod.]

A lot of my closest friends are people I've known for years. We've had some pretty big adventures together, so it's hard to compare to that.

But at the word 'adventures', Lalli's mood abruptly sours.]

Adventures have too many unknowns. They're not fun at all.

he can tell the mood drops, but he doesn't seem to change his mind on that despite...well, a few things.]

I think it depends on the adventure. Even the worst ones can have good things that come from them.

[Lalli is abruptly picking up his laundry, which is still soaking wet, and moving over to a nearby short tree. He is not wringing out his clothes before hanging them over some branches. The branches sag under the weight of the waterlogged clothes.

This is absolutely him trying to avoid what Taichi just said. He is very pointedly not commenting on anything at all.]

They're gonna fall off and get dirty again if you do that.

It's fine.

[It's not fine at all. His clothes are made of wool and hold so much water. The tree is sagging from the weight of the wet clothes.]

[goalsides]

It's not that fine. At least wring the water out if you're gonna use the tree. [seriously. this poor tree.]

[Lalli responds by tossing a sopping wet glove at Taichi's face.]

but he catches it, now holding a wet glove and frowning before pointedly wringing it out. and also throwing it back.]

[He will drape that one on the tree.

...then after a few second of silence, he pulls the cloak down and starts wringing it out.]

[...he will get up and move closer to at least start to help.]

If you're gonna do it this way, make sure the water's out as best as you can. Otherwise they won't dry as fast and they'll just smell later.
